A lot of you might be interested in getting a drawing tab and the term ‘pressure sensitivity’ always pops out.
What is pressure sensitivity?
Pressure sensitivity is primarily an attribute where you can control drawing the thickness of your lines. You can adjust the lighting or tonal value by controlling the opacity of an effect, based on how hard you press the pen to the tablet. Think traditional media—pencils and brushes. The different pressure put on the paper result in different kinds of shading. This is how pressure sensitivity works, but on a digital tablet.
What can you do with pressure sensitivity?
One, control lines. Pressure sensitivity determines how much you can vary the width of the lines you paint by applying different pressure on the tablet surface.
Two, controlling line opacity. Not all software supports this feature, but most of them do. This is a handy feature in digital painting because you want your drawing to follow your drawing style as much as possible.
